Disco Sugar is a microbakery in Rochester, NY that specializes in nostalgic vintage cakes with a trendy, colorful twist. Disco Sugar’s signature style blends the charm of retro 1970s cake designs with a bold and modern flair.
What started as a hobby in 2022 quickly became a passion-driven business when founder Ali Gala began sharing her new-found love for decorating cakes on Instagram. After her first custom request, Disco Sugar was born! Completely self-taught in both baking and business, Ali brings a lifelong love of sweets to every creation. Guided by her own sweet tooth, she has refined her recipes to deliver cakes that are as delicious as they are beautiful — crafted with artisan processes, premium ingredients and meticulous attention to detail.
Each cake is a labor of love and is handcrafted by Ali with intricate, technical designs. On average, a Disco Sugar custom cake takes seven hours to create, with two hours dedicated to the decorating process. Ali also strives to use Fair Trade and ethically sourced ingredients, ensuring your cake is handled with care at every step.
